RADIAL SHOCKWAVES: HIGHLY EFFECTIVE ACOUSTIC WAVES FOR CELLULITE TREATMENT
WHAT ARE ACOUSTIC RADIAL SHOCKWAVES?
Shockwaves are radial pressure waves that penetrate the skin to a depth of up to 10mm, depending on the energy level (dose). The radial shockwaves are generated ballistically via
a projectile that is accelerated using a maximum air pressure of 5 bar, triggering strong
vibrations in the connective tissue.
WHAT EFFECT DO RADIAL SHOCKWAVES HAVE?
Radial shockwaves influence the collagen structure, the skin and the connective tissue.
They drastically improve the skin’s circulation, the metabolization of fat cells and the removal of cellular waste while also reducing edema.
They stimulate the formation of collagen fibers –making skin more elastic and visibly firmer after only a few treatments.
EFFECTIVE CRYOLIPOLYSIS WITH SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
The latest research shows that cryolipolysis in combination with radial shockwave therapy achieves 50 percent more fat cell reduction (circumference reduction) after just 4 weeksthan cryolipolysis without shockwave therapy. Radial shockwave therapy therefore plays a central part in any body forming treatment with cryolipolysis.
HOW IS THE SHOCKWAVE TREATMENT DONE?
Depending on the size of the treatment area, the weekly or biweekly treatment lasts between 10 and 40 minutes, or 2,500 to 10,000 shocks, and should include 8 to 10 repetitions. The
pain-free treatment is performed with a conductive gel. The frequency should be 10 to 14 hertz, and the dose should range from 1.4 to 3.5 bar, or 90 mJ to 220 mJ. The handpiece is guided across the skin diagonally (approximately at a 140° angle) and is very slowly moved toward the large lymph nodes (pelvic area, armpits) with light skin contact and counter-pressure from the other hand. The shocks are only administered in the direction of the lymph nodes and not during the return movement.
Removal of fat cells from resistant areas (cryolipolysis)
Smoothing of dimples, cellulite type I, II and III
Circumference reduction, increase in cell wall permeability
Tightening of sagging skin and connective tissue
Improvement of the skin’s texture and elasticity, lymphatic drainage
Stimulation of growth factors and stem cells
Generally, there is no recovery time. In rare cases, there may be bruising or slight swelling. Temporary redness and discoloration of the skin may also occur. These side effects are largely the skin’s reaction to the treatment and indicate that regeneration and tightening has been initiated.
HOW LONG DO THE SHOCKWAVE RESULTS LAST?
In trials, it has been observed that the effect continues to increase for several months after the last treatment and visibly persists for over 2 years.
Infectious or inflammatory skin diseases, acute herpes
Taking blood-thinning medications
